Weekly Review – Week Ending 7/19/2013

Accomplishments for this week

-Work

– CMMI for Raytheon Operations Process Group workshop in McKinney, TX Jul 22-25. Reviewed Process Action Team progress. Conducted Integrated Work Management workshop to define stakeholder engagement for our tiered accountability meeting process.

– Learn

– Read up to page 130 in The Creature from Jekyll Island which is about the formation of the Federal Reserve Bank and the US financial system. This book reads like a conspiracy theorist book, so I did some research on other blogs to find out more about the author and the book. Thinking about a blog post about this book.
– Decided to not learn Emacs right away, but I have made some progress with JavaScript. Wrote a blog post about it – Learning to Code – Mountain Climbers, Marathons and JavaScript

-Run

– Week 3 of 3 week taper prior to Big Butts 50K this coming Saturday, July 27. Hydrating well this week. I’ve run 12 easy miles this week.

– Social

– Two business networking dinners while on travel with coworkers and lead CMMI Appraiser.
– Got to catch up with my buddy C for a couple of hours.

– Two follow up sessions with Integrated Work Management team to help with progress on action items.
– Merge IWM Phase 1 project and IWM Phase 2 project in to one and update overall project master schedule.

– Begin a blog post capturing thoughts on The Creature from Jekyll Island
– Finish LearnStreet JavaScript tutorial
